“Glitterati returns for Teenage Cancer Trust
A fashion show and charity dinner will be held in memory of Didsbury teenager and former Cheadle Hulme School pupil Cal Ballantine who lost his fight from a rare form of bone cancer aged just 19, in December 2015 will be held for the third year running.
“Glitterati” will be held on Friday March 16 at the Hallmark Hotel, Manchester Airport from 7.00pm.
The event will raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust, a charity supporting young people who need expert treatment and support from the moment they hear the word “cancer”.
The teenager launched charity fashion line ‘Made in Manchester’ while he was going through chemotherapy at the young oncology unit at The Christie Hospital.
Cal, alongside his best friend Samir Kamani developed the £10 t-shirts and donated all the profits to the Teenage Cancer Trust. The pair helped raise more than £20,000 for the charity, with celebrities such as Neol Gallagher, Joe Hart and Sergio Aguero backing the campaign. The total raised now stands at a staggering £258,890.
Kamani of Manchester based fashion business BooHoo man, will showcasing his men’s wear brand the runway along with Cheshire womenswear boutique Fuzzy Goose.
Tickets are for sale from £45 and limited sponsorship packages are also available to the event is attended by over 300 people, including local celebrities and is covered by local & national press and television.
